Richard Arthur Solomon

Richard A Solomon, 84, of New Braunfels TX passed away on March 11, 2025. Richard was born in Allentown, PA on October 3, 1940, to Samuel and Rose Marie (Valenza) Solomon. Richard made his home in New Braunfels where he served time in the Air Force and continued his career at the Texas Highway Dept until his retirement. He spent his free time playing cards, dominos, bowling, spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and keeping his yard maintained. He also had a love for Country/Western dancing, and spending precious time with his grandchildren. Richard was also a member of St Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Laura Anderson (Kip) son, Richard Jr (Mary), his grandchildren Dustin and Lacey Anderson, Bryan and Chelsea Solomon, and great grandchildren, his brothers; Louis and Kenneth, sisters; Geraldine, Margaret and special family friends Bryan Eckroat (Janet), Connie Euler (Travis) and Roger Eckroat (Vanessa).

He is preceded by his parents, Samuel Sr., and Rose Marie (Valenza) Solomon, daughter, Christine Solomon, brothers; Samuel Jr., Joseph, Bruce, Carlin, Daniel. sisters; Beverly, Jacquelyn, Sylvia and his very best friend and longtime companion Edna Eckroat.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels, 5:00pm-8:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, reception to follow in St. Mary’s Hall. A Graveside Service will be following the reception at 12:30pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in New Braunfels across from Fair Grounds.
