Resided in:
New Braunfels, Texas
Nancy Claire McCollum Bartlett of New Braunfels went to be with her Lord on February 14, 2025 at the age of 89. She was born the first of three girls on July 8, 1935 to M.C. ‘Pinky’ McCollum and Catherine Hale Allston McCollum in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and married Bill Bartlett in August of 1955. She soon began a long and successful career (40+ years) with Pioneer Natural Gas in Amarillo – then Atmos Energy in Dallas, where she retired in 1998. Upon retirement, they moved to New Braunfels, Texas to be closer to family. Bill passed away in March of 2001.
Nancy would regularly be seen working in her beautiful yard, traveling with family and friends, playing ‘42’ at Game Night at First Baptist Church of New Braunfels and volunteering for many years at the Hope Hospice Thrift Store which she greatly enjoyed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Rick and Tina Bartlett of New Braunfels and Pam and Kenneth Wright of College Station, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters and their families, as well as a host of other family members and cherished friends.
Special thanks to the wonderful home health care givers of ‘Home Instead’ and the tender compassion of those from Hope Hospice that have ministered to Nancy and her family in these recent days.
‘Celebration of Life’ for Nancy and visitation with her family will be at the Lux Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 5-8 pm. The family asks that you join them in sharing special memories about Nancy to celebrate her life. Nancy would be honored if you would consider a donation to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels in lieu of flowers.
“Life is short – you’d better enjoy it! Eternity is long – you’d better prepare for it!”

We have such great memories of Nancy from singing in the choir and performing as Mama with the Dorights! She was fun and at the same time so genuine. We know she loved the Lord because she was all about “love.” Our condolences to her precious family.
So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. She was such a sweet lady and she will be missed. We sure enjoyed our Sunday lunches with her. ❤️
My love and sympathy to Nancy’s family on her passing. May God give you days filled with comfort and peace. Nancy and I became friends as we volunteered at Hope Hospice. We shared many great times with friends during luncheons at my house. How grateful I am that our paths crossed! Blessings……
