In Loving Memory of Juan Antonio “Johnny” Flores
It is often said that a life is measured by the love it inspires, and Johnny was truly surrounded by an abundance of love. Juan Antonio Flores went to be with our Lord on February 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, football, family barbecues, and a deep passion for the outdoors. Born on January 11, 1973, in Laredo, Texas, to Jacobo and Rosa Flores, Johnny’s love for family was evident from an early age. That love shined brightest in his devotion to his wife, Jennifer, their daughters, Dallas, Coco, and Johnnie Rose, and their cherished grandchildren.
Johnny and Jennifer’s love story began in 1989 in Oceanside, California, but it was their shared love for Texas that bound them together for eternity. They welcomed their first daughter, Dallas, in 1992, followed by Cristina “Coco” in 1993 and his namesake, Johnnie Rose, in 1995. In 2011, their family grew even more with the arrival of their first granddaughter, Baylee Rae. Soon after came Bowen, Blake, Conlee, McCoy, Audie, and Foster, forming a team of grandchildren who filled Johnny’s heart with endless joy and laughter. Affectionately known as “PapaNini,” they were seen as one unit, but he was their guiding light, their rock, and their greatest cheerleader.
Johnny’s love extended beyond his immediate family to his many nieces and nephews, as well as to the countless friends, coworkers, and clients who were welcomed into his circle. His generosity, warmth, and larger-than-life spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Johhny had an illustrious career in media sales that spanned over 29 years with Harte-Hanks PennySaver, Hearst Media Services, Cox Media, USA Today/ LOCALiQ and Koalifi. He was more than just an employee and sales leader; he was a mentor, coach, and voice of reason who made a lasting impact on many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jennifer Flores; his daughters, Dallas (Andrew) Wolf, Cristina (Kaleb) DeLanghe, and Johnnie Rose Flores (Kyle Mitchell); his siblings, Melinda (Peter) Wooding, Jacob Flores, Saul (Yolanda) Flores, Jimmy (Summer) Flores, and Priscilla Flores; eleven nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.
Beyond his devotion to family, Johnny was the heart and soul of every gathering. Known as the go-to chef for celebrations, he poured his love into every meal he prepared. His passion for country and Tejano music will continue to echo in our hearts, just as his legacy of love, laughter, and good food will live on in all who knew him.
Johnny, you will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace, wrapped in love and laughter.

It seems so long ago , like a past life. You may not remember me but I am Juan Antonio Flores wife, we lived in Oceanside until Juan’s death. To your beautiful family I wish them peace .
We were so sad to hear of this news. The old cliche of gone too soon, rings true! Sending prayers and love to all of the family.❤️
Johnny was my boss at the Express-News. He was a strong leader and extremely knowledgeable. We talked a lot about his family; he was a true family man and very proud of his kids. Too soon gone. 🥹
Wishing you strength, peace, and gentle moments of healing in the days ahead.
With deepest sympathy,
I join together with Johnny’s Pennysaver family in grieving the loss- and celebrating the life- of a dear friend and a truly good man. Johnny was one of the very best. His heart was genuine. I remember his kindness, his openness, his laugh, his sense of humor. I remember how he was there to lift up anyone who needed it. But most of all I remember the many heartfelt conversations we had, how deeply blessed he felt, and the absolute love he had for Jen and his girls. And the pride he felt as his family flourished and grew. His family was everything. He cherished you. Prayers, love and light to his family, to Jennifer, to his girls and to the grandbabies he loved so much. Rest with Angels, Johnny. You are loved
I knew Johnny briefly over a span of only a few years through business, but I always enjoyed our get togethers. He was always happy to help, have a great time and his positive attitude was infectious. My deepest condolences to his family. ❤️
