Josefina "Josie" Morales

Josefina "Josie" Morales, age 95, and a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 13, 2017 at Genesis Care Center. Josie was born on July 2, 1922 in New Braunfels to Antonio Valadez and Maria Ramirez Valadez. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ramiro "Ram" Morales, who passed away on September 9, 2017; brothers, Simon Valadez, Ramiro Valadez, Antonio, Jr., Gustavo and Jesus, and by her sister, Adela Garcia. Survivors include her loving husband of 73-years, Joe Morales, Sr.; children, Joe Morales, Jr. and wife, Angie and Carlos Morales, Sr. and wife, Rosa; grandchildren, Joe Morales, III and wife, Mel, Rachelle Morales and husband, Dave, Carlos Morales, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Andrew Morales and wife, Ashely, Laura, Kevin Star Morales, Amanda Morales and Justin Morales and wife, Amy; great-grandchildren, Corban Stone Adkins, Caleb Ashton Love, Cameron Sterling Love, Joe Morales, IV and John Ethan Morales; brother, Miguel Valadez and wife, Anna; sister, Isaura Guerrero and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Josie is also survived by ex-daughters-in-law, Mary Jane Morales and Maria Austin. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. PLEASE NOTE: The funeral procession will depart at 8:30 AM on Monday morning, September 18, 2017 from Zoeller Funeral Home for a 9:15 AM committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Both Josefina and her son, Ramiros committal service will be held together-same time-same date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Josie, I always knew that you were an Angel here on earth and you will now be the perfect Angel in Heaven. I always admired you for your strength and dedication to your family and especially to your son Ramiro. You have earned your wings, and I know that God welcomed you with open arms when you arrived in Heaven. My heart is heavy and although you are gone from us, your presence will be felt for many years to come. I will miss your smile, your laughter and most of all, the love that you shared with all of us who knew you. I will miss you and will always love you.
