Caleb Carter

February 10, 2003 ~ December 27, 2024
Caleb Matthew Carter was born on February 10, 2003 in Glendale, Arizona to proud parents, Jason and Kelly Carter and older brother, Jake.
He is survived by his father, mother and brother; his fiancée, Brooke Rogers; his best dog, Diesel; his grandmothers, Donna Carter and Judy Aiken; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who became our family.
To know Caleb was to love him; he was loved by so many because he had to knack of touching people’s lives in ways that mattered big and he made lasting impressions. Most friends and family knew that if you got a call from Caleb, you might as well have a seat because you were going to be on the phone for at least 30 minutes. He loved to talk and share what he was thinking or doing.
In his younger years, Caleb was a true Renaissance kid who took up sewing -making his mom a purse-, and baking -selling cakes and sweets to friends-, in true entrepreneurial fashion. From an early age we realized that Caleb’s mind worked differently. He was a problem solver who was gifted in math and science, but struggled in reading and writing. We obediently answered God’s calling to home school him from 5th-8th grade. During these precious years we were able to focus on how Caleb was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139.) In turn, by putting the emphasis on how God uniquely created him, Caleb was ale to empathize with others and see their strengths.
When he was about 15, his interests changed and he fell head over heels in love with cars. He loved to take things apart and put them back together which is how he learned so much about fixing and rebuilding vehicles. Caleb thrived with all hands-on projects. At about 18, motorcycles became his passion and there was no turning back. A friend had gotten into the TXFame Apprentice Program with Toyota and after gradating High School, Caleb felt this was a good fit for him too. He enjoyed going to school 2 days a week and working at the plant as an apprentice 3 days. After graduating with honors from St. Philip’s College in 2023, he was hired on full time and flourished in his new position where he would take any overtime offered.
Caleb always set goals for himself with the mindset of being a provider. At 16, he had opened a savings account and at 18, he had a money market account. His next big step was to have a house fund, and guess what? He purchased his first house this past year at age 21! What an incredible accomplishment at such a young age.
Things that we’d liked you to remember about Caleb are that he was a people person who fiercely loved. It wasn’t in him to hold a grudge and you would not hear him speaking ill about others. Any disappointments in his life just fueled his desire to do better. He was an overcomer of obstacles. All of these traits made him the spitting image of his Dad, and to say we were proud of the man he had become is an incredible understatement.
Caleb and Brooke, his beautiful fiancée, met at Tejas Rodeo on her 18th birthday and were planning to be married on March 30th by going back to where they shared their first dance. And even though is was not made official, we are forever grateful for the daughter he brought into our family.
Caleb was so excited to embark on his exceptionally prosperous and bright future, but we know that God had other plans for him. He was God’s bright child before he was ours, but we are so thankful that we were God’s Stewards and got to pour our love into Caleb and receive his in return. We are brokenhearted to miss all of the milestones that Caleb planned and dreamed about, but we rejoice in knowing that he is in the arms of the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Caleb’s name to the New Braunfels Humane Society.
