Kevin Francis O'Toole

Kevin Francis O’Toole of New Braunfels, TX died unexpectedly on December 29, 2017 at 60 years old. A brilliant, kind, and giving man, Kevin readily shared his time and talent. He loved his family, friends, good barbeque, and authentic El Paso Tex-Mex. He moved to New Braunfels in 2005 with his family. Kevin kept himself busy throughout his life. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso and had full career working at El Paso Natural Gas, Meridian Oil, Tarpon Gas Storage, and several other companies, including his latest venture, Comal Coffee Roasters. Kevin was quick to help those in need and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, Oakwood Baptist Church, several schools in NBISD, and more. He traveled to several countries in Africa, Central America, South America and the Caribbean doing charitable work with the Wheat Cutter Foundation. He occasionally laughed inappropriately, read what he wanted to read, loved who he wanted to love, and accepted everyone from all walks of life for who they were. Kevin had a wry grin and a gift for bringing a smile to the face of anyone he would encounter. He is survived by his mother Gladys “Boots” Healy, son Kelley and wife Tonya, granddaughter Kathleen Jane O’Toole, former wife Sharon O’Toole, son Connor O’Toole, sister Brigid O. Fair and husband Michael, brother Patrick O’Toole, brother Vincent O’Toole and wife Cathy, niece Sarah O’Toole, nephews John and Ryan O’Toole, and his girlfriend Kimberly Knake. He also leaves behind a large, loud, and loving pack of Irish relatives spanning the globe, and wonderful friends even more numerous and equally widespread. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the Oakwood Baptist Church, Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, everyone who would like to honor Kevin is asked to contribute to the Wheat Cutter Foundation (www.wheatcutter.org), Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, or make a charitable gift to someone in need. Kevin would also gladly be honored by friends and relatives who celebrate his life in their own way; raising a glass of their favorite beverage in his memory would be quite appropriate.
