Danny was more than just a neighbor—he was a one-of-a-kind friend and guardian. We will miss the sound of his shed door rolling up, the sight of him riding over on his mower, and the smile he always wore as he delivered his famous hand-processed deer and hog meat. For the last five years, he kept a watchful and caring eye on our home, always ready with a kind word, a good story, or a friendly “Sweetheart.” I take comfort in knowing he’s reunited with his beloved wife and is once again the strong, young buck he used to be. Rest easy, Danny—you will always be missed and never forgotten. When I’m feeling down, I’ll just listed to your voicemail that says “Sweetheart, I’ll talk to you later”
