Maria Alejos

September 25, 1926 ~ April 5, 2025
Maria V. Alejos was called home at the age of 98 on April 5th 2025. She passed peacefully with her son George by her side. She was born September 25, 1926 to Victor Valdez and Rita Perez Valdez at the family farm between Goliad and Runge Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eluterio her son, Isidro. Her brothers, Toribio, Faustino, Maximo, Juan, and Valentine. Her sisters, Antonio Garza, Conception Campos, Genoveva Gomez, and Valentina Luna. She is survived by son’s Reyes, Miguel (Annette) and George Alejos of Marion Texas. Her grandsons, Chris (Christy) Alejos Brandyn (Myra) Alejos, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was proud of her home in New Braunfels welcoming all into her home making sure you never left hungry. She left school in 3rd grade to help with the family farm. She enjoyed sewing, working as a seamstress to many. She made many a dress for weddings and quinceneras She worked briefly at Mission Valley Mills, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and Heidelberg Lodges. She never wavered in her faith and belief in God. She was a member of Union Mutua of Marion, Texas.
Thank you to Hope Hospice and staff for taking good care of our mother. To Gloria Luna and Rudy who gave of their time with Mom. To the numerous nieces nephews family and friends who prayed and came to visit her and always lent a helping hand we thank you. To the various clergy and deacons who visited throughout the year thank you.
Visitation will be Friday April 25, 2025 2:00 PM To 6:00 PM at Lux Funeral Home. Per her request she will be cremated and her remains interred at Guadalupe Valley Cemetery at a later date.
