Justin A. Mata

Justin A. Mata, 37, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025. Justin was born on August 3, 1987 in New Braunfels, Texas to Trinidad Rivera, Sr. and Irene Mata.

Justin Aaron Mata was the most loving and caring funny and respecting and talented person I know. He loved his video gaming, loved his cowboy team. He could put on a smile on anyone who was down. Loved his music and jamming out. He was such a jokester even his sarcasm would life a smile. He was such a great artist love to draw and was great at it. Anyone who knew Justin knew he was such a sweetheart. He loved his family and friends. Never asked for much and was the most understanding. He is the strongest person I know, he went through so much as a kid to an adult and never showed an ounce of giving up! He showed all his family and friends the definition of being tough but now no longer need to be tough and finally gets to rest. We all love you Justin Aaron Mata! You will always be remembered and never forgotten to our Father’s Arms you go and to join the rest of the Angels who art in Heaven.

Justin is preceded in death by his brother, Gabriel Aaron Mata and grandfathers, Thedore Parra and Benigno Rivera. He is survived by his parents, Irene and Trinidad; siblings, Merissa Rivera and Trinidad Rivera, Jr; nephews and niece, Jesse Rivera, Olivia Rivera and Gabriel Rivera; grandmothers, Adela Parra and Gloria Rivera; and aunt and uncles, Mando Mata and wife Josie, Dora Farias and husband Jessi, Mary Villarreal and husband, Louie (deceased), and Armando Parra and wife Julie. Justin is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home. Services will be on Monday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lux Funeral Home going in procession to Comal Cemetery.
