Sierra Lynn Avalos, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in San Antonio at the age of 21. Sierra was born on September 3, 2003, in New Braunfels to Natividad Avalos, III and Monica Marie Garcia.

Sierra as everyone knew had the biggest heart and the sweetest, kindest soul. She had the biggest dimples and a smile that would light up every room she walked into. Sierra loved hanging out with her family and friends. Sierra and her family all enjoyed watching the 49er games together. She definitely loved to eat out any chance she got, she loved her wings especially Wingstop and crab boils. She was a ray of sunshine and always full of energy. Sierra was so excited she had just received her CNA certification as well from Career Academy of Training in San Marcos Tx., in December. She was looking forward to applying for school in April to be a radiology tech. She was always full of joy and life. Always making her family and friends laugh with her silly, crazy personality. As everyone who knew her, she was truly “The life of the party”. Sierra was so excited to become an aunt to her first nephew, and was ready to watch him grow up. She also loved her sweet dogs Honey, Daisy & Thiya. Her passing has left her whole family and friends devastated and heartbroken. But they are truly taken with gratitude by all the lives their sweet girl touched.

Sierra was preceded in death by her Godfather/Uncle, Johnny Ortiz and by her uncle, Steve Avalos. Survivors include her parents, Natividad Avalos, III and Monica Garcia; Godmother/Aunt, Joann Avalos; siblings, Jazzlyn Avalos, Christian Avalos (Nelly) and “brother”, Zack Garcia; nephew, Elijah Avalos; grandparents, Carmen Garcia, Natividad Avalos and Lupe Avalos; aunts and uncles, Victor (Lurdes), Cindy (John), Michael (Melissa) and Roger; numerous cousins, and by her boyfriend, Aydin Church.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church. All services will end at the conclusion of the Mass.

From the bottom of her family’s heart, they would also like to thank everyone for all the donations and prayers everyone has sent their way.
