On November 30, 2023, John Nussbaum flew into the arms of Jesus.
He was born on August 2, 1938 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to John and Glendora Nussbaum. They both proceeded him in death.
He will be missed and loved always by his wife, Mary Kay. They created a love story for 57 years. A daughter Julie Ann (Robertson wife of Will of San Saba, Texas) and a son, Joseph Martin (of Canyon Lake, Texas and his love, Kristi Williams) were results of the love story. John adored his granddaughter, Katelyn Robertson Morris and grandson, Will Robertson Jr. It was love at first sight when he saw his great-granddaughter, Gentry Mae Robertson.
John and Mary Kay worked many years with children between the Cherokee Home and the Foster Home. John taught many children to read, love school and to fall in love with Jesus. He always shared a positive view of life.
In 1981, he moved his family to Blanco, Texas. He loved Texas, jalapeños, driving the ambulance on Saturday nights, having coffee at the Bowling Alley Café and God’s beauty of the hill country.
On the removal of his flag draped body from Fischer, Texas, he was given a last salute by several of his veteran neighbors. It was a beautiful sight. John loved his family, country and Jesus. His love will live on.
