Placida Umpierre-Martinez, 87, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in New Braunfels. Born on August 19, 1936 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso Umpierre-Lopez and Emelia Martinez-Abreu.
Placida is survived by her sons, Peter A. Irizarry, and Walter A. Irizarry; siblings, Francisco Umpierre-Martinez and his wife Opal, and Carmen Umpierre-Rivera; grandchildren, Abram Irizarry, Yazmin Irizarry-Boyd, and Melissa Irizarry-Redd; nieces, Arlene and Lucille, and nephews, Jason and Mario. She is also survived by numerous cousins, friends and other family members in Connecticut, California and elsewhere.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 AM.
